OVERLAND PARK, Kan. --- The Association of Division III Independents (AD3I) has released the 2016-17 All-Independent Selections for the 13-school association, and four Sabercats have made the cut for the all-independent teams. Hanna Glaze and Zach Terpstra are first-team selections, and Alexis Johnson and Wes Wagner have been named to the second team.

Glaze has been a standout for MBU this season, as the transfer senior was recently named one of the best five players in NCCAA Division II. This was the first time that Glaze has been named an NCCAA All-American, and the Twin Falls, Idaho native was named an AD3I First-Team selection last season. Glaze surpassed the 750 career points mark this season, and her standout performances led the Sabercats to their 18th NCCAA Regional title.

Terpstra was named to the AD3I First Team for the first time this season. The big man was a clear leader on the court, and finished the season averaging 10.5 points per game and 4.3 rebounds per game. Even with an injury-shortened sophomore season, Terpstra played over 2000 minutes during his career, and racked up 747 points, 365 rebounds, and 117 assists. Each year Terpstra played, the Sabercats earned more than 10 wins - the first time MBU has done so in a four-year stretch since 1997-2000. 

Johnson was a primary contributor for the Women's Team, as she has knocked down 13.3 points per game and grabbed 6.6 boards per game this season. Johnson posted 20 or more points on four different occasions, and hit a career-high 24 points in her first game back this season. The Michigander teamed up with Glaze all season, and her mid-range jumper and strong post player were key elements to MBU's offense.

Wagner's consistency has been apparent over his three-year career, and the Texan averaged 7.9 points per game and 4.8 rebounds per game this past season. Wagner played in 77 games and earned 58 starts over his three-year stint, and was on the floor for 1635 minutes in 2016-17. Wagner scored a career-best 18 points at Illinois Tech in 2015-16, and knocked down all eight of his shots from the field that night - a feat which tied the program record for field-goal percentage in a single game.
