Program Notes
Men's Basketball will face NCCAA North Region opponents 8 times during the regular season. The Sabercats will square up against everyone in the North except for Providence and Calvary and will face both Moody Bible and Emmaus Bible two times.
Last season held a heartbreaking end for MBU, as they saw an electrifying postseason run end by two points at the hands of Moody Bible in the NCCAA Regional Championship. The Sabercats will look to even the odds against the Archers this season.
Last year, MBU was an even 9-9 at home and held an 8-6 record against NCCAA competition from both divisions.
Women's Basketball peaked at the right time last year, as they extended a five-game winning streak through the first game of the NCCAA National Tournament. At the regional tournament, the Sabercats upset the #1-ranked Trinity Bible College Lions in the championship game before topping the Bob Jones University Bruins in the national quarterfinal. The Sabercats would go on to take a fourth-place finish at the national stage.
The win at the regional tournament was the 18th for the program and Maranatha's 10th regional title in the last 11 seasons.
Thanks to that 5-2 run to end the season, the Sabercats posted a winning record of 16-13, which marked their first winning season since 2012.
Men's Volleyball had a superlative season at the club level last year, which was their fourth year as a team. The team finished off their season by winning the Wisconsin Volleyball Conference DIII title, which included wins over UW-Stout, UW-Platteville, and UW-Stevens Point.
After their successful 15-9 season, the team was named Program of the Year by the WVC.
Since their first home match in 2014, the team has been gaining popularity. The Sabercats will look to capitalize on that momentum as they approach their first year at the varsity level.
