Shepard's Postseason Spree Earns Weekly Award
OVERLAND PARK, Kan. -- Micah Shepard was clutch at regionals, and his standout performances had him recognized at the AD3I level.
The senior out of Little Rock, Arkansas put up 18 points per game to lead the Sabercats to a relentless regional run last week - a run in which they never trailed in a 3-game stretch to take their first tournament title since 2003.
The unstoppable Sabercats outscored their opponents by an average of more than 30 points per game, and Shepard was leading the charge.
Shepard supplemented his 18-point showing with 5 rebounds per game and 2 assists per game, and hit a week-high 27 points on 8-of-12 shooting in 19 minutes of play against Emmaus on Friday.
This was the second time this season that Shepard has garnered the weekly accolade. His last recognition came after a career-high 38 points against North Central on Nov. 30.
