    • W 3-0 vs Wisconsin Lutheran

Match-by-Match

  • L 1-3 vs Lakeland (21-25, 25-12, 16-25, 16-25)
    • The positive momentum in the first match was transient for the Sabercats, who battled out the first set to the end before dominating the second set. Alison Renz registered 16 kills, two solo blocks and four block assists while a scrappy Katie Bender picked up 21 digs. Even after a commanding second-set performance, however, the Sabercats could not solve the unpredictable Muskie attack, and fell in the last two sets by identical scorelines.
  • W 3-0 vs Wisconsin Lutheran: (27-25, 25-19, 25-21)
    • After a disappointing end to an inconsistent showing in the first match, the Sabercats ended the weekend on a high note. After outlasting the Warriors as the first set went into a tie, the Sabercats cruised to the win to the tune of straight sets. Renz was joined at the net by Alexis Johnson, who supplemented Renz's 14 kills with 11 of her own. Julia Gunst and the rookie Karley Johnson shared the setting load by contributing 19 and 18 assists, respectively, and the Sabercats were much more polished, as they recorded just 20 errors in the match as opposed to 33 against the Muskies.

Side Notes

  • Renz moved into the top three in Sabercats history in the block assist category, as she totals 227 all-time.
  • Karley Johnson's 18 assist tally was her highest on the season so far.
