Sabercats Receive Recognition from Governor Walker

WATERTOWN, Wis. -- The recognition continues for the Sabercats Women's Volleyball Team, as they have been honored by Scott Walker, Governor of the State of Wisconsin.

Governor Walker issued a Certificate of Achievement to the team yesterday in recognition of their third consecutive NCCAA DII National Title.

"This is incredible that Governor Walker would take the time to recognize Maranatha and our volleyball program," said the Sabercats' head coach Regina DeLozier. "This achievement embodies the dedication of all players and coaching staff from the last three years."

DeLozier and the Sabercats took home the trifecta last month after winning 5 straight matches at the NCCAA DII National Tournament in South Carolina. In their 3-year undefeated run at the national stage, the Sabercats hold a set record of 51-2.

"We are honored to receive this recognition from our Governor," said Rob Thompson, Director of Athletics at MBU. "Being honored at this level speaks well of our program. We join in congratulating Coach DeLozier and the team."
