WATERTOWN, Wis. -- With their performances at last weekend's Ken Weidt Classic, the Sabercats have qualified 7 runners for NCCAA Nationals, including a full squad of 5 on the men's side. 

On the men's side, runners must beat a time of 34:00 in an 8K race to qualify for the NCCAA season finale, and on the women's side, a 5K time of 24:30 or better is good enough to earn a National Championship berth.

Those who qualified, along with their placement and time from last weekend's event, are listed below:

Men

• 42nd - Cameron Rankin (30:50.8)
• 44th - Robert Kile (31:03.6)
• 51st - Jeremiah Doak (32:01)
• 59th - Jacob MacDonald (33:24)
• 60th - Kurt Wagner (33:24.1)

Women

• 53rd - Sarah Vander Pluym (27:29 - 6K)
• 66th - Madelyn Hansel (28:10.1 - 6K)

For the Sabercats' men's squad, Rankin, Kile, Doak and Wagner all make return trips to the national stage. In 2016, Wagner finished 9th at NCCAA Nationals while Rankin finished inside the top 20 with a 17th-place finish. 

Jacob MacDonald, a rookie from Watertown, is on track to make his NCCAA National debut this November.

Women's Cross Country veterans Vander Pluym and Hansel both beat their times from the 2016 Ken Weidt Classic, and both will make a return trip to the NCCAA National Championships. Last year, Vander Pluym finished 14th at Nationals with a 21:15 5K, and Hansel grabbed 21st place with a 21:51 5K showing.

"The meet went very well, with beautiful weather to run in," said Coach Isaiah Steinbart after the Ken Weidt Classic. "[I] was very proud of how the teams competed this year with injuries affecting several runners who couldn’t race today. Excited to see how each runner progresses throughout the season."

The NCCAA National Cross Country Championships will be held on November 12 at Choctaw Trails in Jackson, Mississippi.
