Big Blue Breaks Away in Second Half

DECATUR, Ill. - In a non-conference NCAA clash, the Sabercats suffered a road defeat to Milikin University, falling 0-7 on a cool afternoon in Decatur, Illinois. With the loss, the Sabercats fall to 1-5 on the season.

How it Happened

  • 1st Half
    • Milikin announced their intentions early by scoring under four minutes into the game. Raven Withaar created her own chance to put the hostesses on the board (0-1)
    • Just after the 30' mark, Milikin doubled their advantage when Withaar turned from scorer to provider (0-2)
  • 2nd Half
    • Whilst Milikin held the Sabercats' offense at bay, the Big Blue quickly punched the back of the net three times in the opening 20 minutes to put the game out of reach of the Sabercats (0-5)
    • Two more strikes in the final 15 minutes capped off a one-sided second half, as Milikin cruised to the comfortable win (0-7)
