GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Jeremy Fopma won the North Region Championship and was named as the North Region Runner of the Year last weekend, and the National Christian College Athletic Association has awarded him with the title of NCCAA Student-Athlete of the Week.
This is Fopma's second consecutive weekly award from the NCCAA, as he put down a Top-7 finish and All-Wisconsin honor at the Wisconsin Private College Championships on October 16 before cruising to a North Region win last weekend. Fopma started the race by pacing his teammate, Jordan Hoffmann, to an eventual second-place finish, then Fopma put up a couple of five-minute miles to close the 8K with a region-leading time of 27:22.
Fopma and the Sabercats are already preparing for the 2021 NCCAA DII National Championships on November 12. Nationals will be held at Ozark Christian College in Joplin, Missouri.
