Encore for Fopma
November 15, 2021 | by Taylor Pill
GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Jeremy Fopma has earned the title of NCCAA Student-Athlete of the Week for the third time this season, as he made NCCAA history on the national stage.
Again.
Fopma won an unprecedented third consecutive NCCAA DII individual title at NCCAA Nationals, running the 8K in 26:07 to beat the rest of the field by almost a full minute. His historic win at this year's season finale comes one year after he became the first runner on record to win the combined NCCAA DI and NCCAA DII race - a feat he couldn't even try this year after the NCCAA separated the DI and DII races for Nationals.
This was Fopma's second win of the season, as he cruised to an easy victory at the NCCAA North Region Championship on October 23.
