Ballin' in January
WATERTOWN, Wis. -- Taylor Ball has stepped up big time in January for Maranatha, and the senior has earned the honor of Pizza Ranch Student-Athlete of the Month - an in-house award from the Maranatha Athletics Department.
Ball took the primary scoring responsibility on himself in the place of the injured Stephen Wilkerson. After Wilkerson was hurt on January 18, Ball followed that game up with 30, 27, and 30 points in the last three games of the month. In January, Ball shot 41 percent from the floor for 19.8 points per game, adding 4.8 boards, 1.3 assists, and 0.8 steals as the Sabercats went 2-5 on the month.
The Senior from Gilbert, Arizona currently averages 17 points per game for the season and 29 points per game over the last three contests.
