Hansel Honored

Hansel Honored

GREENVILLE, S.C. -- For the first time in her career, Claire Hansel has earned the superlative honor of NCCAA DII National Player of the Year.

The title comes as no surprise. Hansel earned NCCAA All-American honors in 2018 and 2019 and has been the undisputed on-court leader for the Sabercats in 2020. As a senior, Hansel has led the team to a perfect 18-0 NCCAA record, and her firepower and defensive presence make her the all-around force that any coach would covet.

Hansel's award marks the fifth time that a Maranatha Women's Volleyball player has earned the top title, and it's the fourth time the award has gone to the program since 2015.

To date, Hansel has amassed 1,294 careeer kills, 1,066 career digs, 130 aces, and 132 blocks.

Claire started her career winning the national championship as a freshman, and after being denied the title for the last two years running, you can bet that Hansel won't be satisfied with just an individual award to close things out - even it's the highest one she could get.
