Callie Earns All-American

JOPLIN, Mo. -- Maranatha Women's Basketball junior guard Callie Morrison has earned 2nd-Team All-America honors from the National Christian College Athletic Association.

Morrison led the Sabercats to the NCCAA North Region Championship with consecutive double-doubles last weekend, as the Sabercats captured their third consecutive regional title. Morrison recently passed the 1,000-career-points mark and currently stands at 12th all-time in program history with 1,069.

This season, Morrison registered 16.3 points, 8.7 rebounds, 4.7 assists, and 2.9 steals per game - she leads Maranatha in all of those categories.

This is the third consecutive year that Callie has earned All-American honors. She earned a 1st-Team selection last year and a 2nd-Team placement her freshman year. Each year, she has been named to the NCCAA 1st-Team North Region team, thus earning All-American eligibility.

The only other North Region student-athletes to join Callie in the All-America selections were Calvary University's Taylor Hunter (3rd Team) and Emmaus Bible College's Kia Gelinas (1st Team). Maranatha beat Emmaus 67-62 in the NCCAA North Region Semifinal.
