One More Thome
WATERTOWN, Wis. -- Taylor Thome was a softball mainstay in April, and the Maranatha Athletic Department has named her the Pizza Ranch Student-Athlete of the Month - an in-house award in conjunction with Watertown's Pizza Ranch location.
Thome compiled a .300 batting average and a .350 slugging percentage for the month and consistently occupied the third spot in the batting order. Thome played shortstop all season and finished April with 9 putouts and 17 assists.
The North Carolinian was recently named as an NCCAA All-Region selection and a Coach's Award recipient from the team, as she was a mainstay in the Sabercats' lineup all season long. Thome and the Sabercats finished the year with a 3-13 record.
