Chaney Chalks it Up
WATERTOWN, Wis. -- Dani Chaney had the hottest bat of anyone in March, and the Maranatha Athletic Department has named her the Pizza Ranch Student-Athlete of the Month - an in-house award in conjunction with Watertown's Pizza Ranch location.
Chaney led Maranatha to three wins in the month with a batting average of .429, an on-base percentage of .500, and a dominant .821 slugging percentage. She registered 12 hits in 28 at-bats with 5 doubles, 2 homers, and 18 RBI.
The Coloradoan was influential in the Sabercats' record-breaking 32-run game against North Central to conclude the month - Chaney went 4-6 with 2 doubles, a homer, and 6 RBI on the day as the Sabercats tied the series.
From the catcher's position, Chaney logged 32 putouts in the month.
Chaney and the Sabercats have this weekend off and will return to play next Friday at 5:00 p.m. against Finlandia at Brandt-Quirk Park.
