OVERLAND PARK, Kan. -- Stephen Wilkerson led the Sabercats with 18 points per game last week, and the Texan has been named as the Student-Athlete of the Week by the Association of Division III Independents.
Wilkerson led Maranatha to two NCCAA regional wins on the road, as he poured in 21 points at Emmaus Bible College before posting 15 at Faith Baptist. Wilkerson's 18 points per game came off of 63.6 percent shooting, and he pitched in 5.0 rebounds per game for good measure.
This is Wilkerson's first career weekly honor, and he has recorded double-digit points in 11 games so far this season.
