On the Rise
WATERTOWN, Wis. -- Last year yielded a sixth-place finish at the NCCAA National stage and the Sabercats' first NCCAA Regional title since 2003. This year's Sabercats are looking in only one direction: up.
KEY TALKING POINTS
- Coach Keith Salscheider returns for his seventh season at the helm. Salscheider led the Sabercats to a 16-win season for the second time last year, which is the most wins since the turn of the century.
- Salscheider brings 24 players to this year's squad: 12 returners and 12 freshmen. Of the returning 12 players, five broke into the starting lineup last year. Jonathan Book (AD3I 1st Team - 2017-18) and David Lerma (AD3I 2nd Team - 2017-18) highlight the returners.
- The Sabercats will have two home games in the fall semester and eight after Christmas break. Five of the second-semester home games come in February.
- The NCCAA North Region Tournament will be held February 21-23 in Dubuque, Iowa at Emmaus Bible College. The National Tournament will be held at Bob Jones University in Greenville, S.C. March 7-9.
- The Sabercats will have to replace two regular starters, as Micah Shepard and Bryce Cashner concluded their four-year careers last season.
