Hats Off for Hansel
OVERLAND PARK, Kan. -- Claire Hansel was sharp on all fronts last weekend, and the Association of Division III Independents have named her the Student-Athlete of the Week.
Hansel registered a career-high 23 kills in a four-set loss to Judson (Ill.) before adding another 15 kills in the Sabercats' dramatic, five-set comeback over Emmaus Bible College, who held the top spot in the final Top 10 rankings of the season for the NCCAA DII.
On the day at the Emmaus Triangular, Hansel amassed 38 kills and 40 digs, leading the Sabercats to a 1-1 showing against two competitive teams.
Hansel and the Sabercats have four matches left in the regular season, as they will travel to Wisconsin Lutheran College this weekend to compete at the Wisconsin Lutheran Invitational. Follow at mbusabercats.com/composite.
