Hands down Hansel
OVERLAND PARK, Kan. -- It was a normal week last week, but there was nothing ordinary about Claire Hansel's performance. For the second straight week and for the third time this season, Hansel has been named as the Student-Athlete of the Week by the Association of Division III Independents.
The sophomore slammed down over 14 kills per match at the Wisconsin Lutheran Invitational, and she was named to the all-tournament team for her 57 kills and 33 digs. Hansel notched a double-double to lead the Sabercats to an impressive 3-1 win over Central College (Iowa), and she led Maranatha to a 2-2 weekend against tough DIII competition.
Hansel and the Sabercats now look to the NCCAA North Region Tournament, where they have received the #2 seed and will square off against #7 Oak Hills Christian on Friday at 12:00 p.m.
