Johnson Doubles Up
WATERTOWN, Wis. -- Kelsey Johnson was one kill away from two consecutive triple-doubles on Saturday, and her stellar play on the volleyball court has earned her double honors.
Both the National Christian College Athletic Association and the Association of Division III Independents have given their weekly award to the junior from Daggett, Michigan, who slammed down 28 kills last week to lift the Sabercats to a 2-2 showing.
Johnson dished out assists like they were going out of style, as she distributed 79 dimes over the four-match sequence. The junior is currently tied with her sister, Karley, for a team-high 181 assists so far this season (just over 15 per match). Kelsey also registered 40 digs and five blocks on the week, proving her worth on offense and defense.
The Sabercats will look to take down Beloit College tonight at 7:00 p.m. The match will be played at Maranatha.
