Morrison Merits AD3I Accolade
OVERLAND PARK, Kan. -- Callie Morrison was exceptionally exceptional last month, and the freshman guard has been named as the Student-Athlete of the Month by the Association of Division III Independents.
Morrison put an exclamation point on her standout freshman season by leading the Sabercats to an 11-game winning streak for the month, averaging 16.5 points, 5.6 rebounds, 5.0 assists, and 2.2 steals per game. Morrison's play helped fuel a program-record winning streak of 13 games.
The rookie hit a career-high 23 points at Emmaus on February 8, then concluded the month with consecutive 21-point games as the Sabercats captured the NCCAA North Region Tournament.
This is Morrison's fourth AD3I honor this season, as she was twice named as the AD3I student-athlete of the week. Morrison was also recently named as an AD3I All-Independent 2nd Team selection.
