Taylor Receives NCCAA's Highest Honor
GREENVILLE, S.C. -- The National Christian College Athletic Association has announced that Andrew Taylor has been named as the male recipient for the NCCAA National Game Plan 4 LIFE Award, which is considered the highest honor that the NCCAA gives to a student-athlete.
Student-athletes from either Division I or Division II are nominated based on their GPA, playing ability, and their demonstration of the four characteristics of the award: Love, Integrity, Faith, and Excellence. Aside from that, the student-athlete must be supported with letters from their coach, an opposing coach, the athletic director of the institution, and a member of the administration from the institution.
"I've been able to witness first-hand the impact that [Andrew] has on those around him. He's a true leader," said MBU Men's Soccer coach Jeff Pill. "He's conducted himself with the highest level of integrity and the willingness to serve and lead."
"Andrew embodies the very qualities that the NCCAA has established as its core values," said MBU Athletic Director, Rob Thompson. "In every aspect of his endeavors, Andrew has demonstrated character, honesty, and trustworthiness. I would, without hesitation, recommend Andrew for this award."
Taylor finished a master's degree this May, and he was actively involved in service in various ministries throughout his college career. He was a regular fixture on the scholar-athlete lists, and during his senior season, Taylor was named as the AD3I Goalkeeper of the Year.
