Causin' More Trouble
OVERLAND PARK, Kan. -- After earning the Association of Division III Independents' Student-Athlete of the Week honors, freshman shortstop Alex Causey has kept the ball rolling.
The rookie out of Huntsville, Alabama was just named as the AD3I student-athlete of the month after leading the Sabercats through a difficult slate of games during the month of April. This is the first time in program history that a Sabercat has earned Baseball Student-Athlete of the Month honors.
Causey led Maranatha on the month by batting .258 with six RBI, four runs, four doubles, and a triple.
The shortstop added RBI three days in a row when the Sabercats faced North central, Trinity International, and Illinois Tech early in the month. Then the rookie had a month-high two RBI and batted 2-for-5 in the Sabercats' 17-5 win over Lincoln Christian on April 20.
