WATERTOWN, Wis. -- Sabercats Women's Soccer coach David Anderson has announced that he will be stepping down as the head coach of the program before the 2019 season.
The new head coach of the program is still to be determined.
"We are very thankful for the three years that David has been at the helm of the women’s soccer program at Maranatha," said Rob Thompson, Athletic Director at MBU. "He has led this team with character and distinction both on and off the field, and his contributions to the team will continue beyond his time on the sidelines.
In his tenure as head coach, Anderson led the Sabercats to a 20-23-4 record and an NCCAA record of 10-3-3, capturing the 2016 NCCAA North Region Championship before finishing fourth at the NCCAA DII National Tournament.
"I could've never imagined how much I would enjoy coaching the women's soccer team at MBU," said Anderson. "I am indebted to each of the players for allowing me to work alongside them for the last three seasons. They are a joy to interact with on and off the field and I know their hunger for improvement will continue to push this program in the right direction.
"Their success collectively and individually has always been my greatest desire and any part of that to which I've contributed is a testament to God's grace and our players' pursuit of growth."
