All-Decade MVP: Will O'Malley
O'Malley set a program record of 26:52 (8K) at the 2012 Wisconsin Private College Championships, and that record stood for seven years, standing at the top of the record books by a full 64 seconds. He was the fastest runner at NCCAA Nationals in 2011, marking the first time that a Maranatha runner won Nationals (Caleb Wagner, 2015; Jeremy Fopma, 2019).
He finished in the top five at NCCAA Nationals each of his four years. Had the NCCAA's current All-American system been in place at the time, O'Malley would be just one of three Maranatha Athletes to be named an NCCAA 1st-Team All-American all four years.†
O'Malley was named to the Northern Athletics Conference 1st Team all four seasons as well, finishing as high as fifth at the NAC Championships. Here's a closer look at his astounding career:

O'Malley was a three-year captain and said that it was "a team of people pushing me to be better [and] great coaching to help me peak," when asked what it took to set a program record like he did.
"Running is the most personal team sport," O'Malley said. "You score as a team, but you run as an individual - I love pushing myself to be better and love competing against others to be the best I can be.
"It's taught me to control my emotional and mental state and to be able to hyper-focus on one thing until it's finished. It's also taught me to be confident in who I am and who I want to become."
