Nelson Gets the Nod
GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Tyler Nelson tore it up with two goals and two assists over the weekend, and the National Christian College Athletic Association has tipped the senior as the student-athlete of the week.
Nelson was the catalyst for the Sabercats' 3-1 comeback win at Emmaus Bible College on Friday, scoring the equalizing goal before tabulating two assists from corner kicks late in the game.
The day after, the Raleigh native followed that man-of-the-match performance with a rocket to the upper corner to seal a 4-1 win at Faith Baptist Bible College.
Nelson currently leads the Sabercats with 21 points, and he has seven goals and seven assists to his name this season.
This is the third time a Sabercats Men's Soccer player has earned the weekly honor, and they currently await their seed going into the NCCAA postseason.
