NCCAA North Region Volleyball Tournament
WATERTOWN, Wis. -- After dominating the regular season, the Sabercats Women's Volleyball Team are seeded #1 as they compete for the NCCAA North Region Tournament as tournament hosts.
MBU will open play on Friday, November 8 at 8:00 p.m. in the NCCAA North Region Semifinal, taking on the winner of #4 Moody and #5 Calvary. The winner of the semifinal advances to the 1:30 p.m. championship match on Saturday, November 9.
The winner of the North Region Tournament will earn a berth at the 2019 NCCAA DII National Tournament held November 21-23 in Greenville, South Carolina. For the Blue and Gold, nothing short of the banner will do, as they are gunning for their ninth regional title in the last 10 seasons.
New this year, the seedings are determined based on the new NCCAA Power Rating System, which ranks teams based on win/loss record and strength of schedule. As the #1 seed, the Sabercats are "back home" in more ways than one, as they have won the tournament the last two years despite being seeded #3 in 2017 and #2 in 2018.
Here's a brief overview of the field:
