Four For Fopma

GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Jeremy Fopma was at his brilliant best last week, and the NCCAA has awarded him with their weekly accolade yet again.

The sophomore won the Wisconsin Private College Championships last Saturday and extended his Maranatha program record by a tenth of a second in the process. Fopma's tape-cutting mark of 26:28.4 was good enough to edge David Potter of Ripon College by three seconds, as Fopma cruised to the win at Colburn Park.

Impressive? Without a doubt, and it was Fopma's third win in just five events this season.

As noteworthy as it was, the 26:28 mark wasn't even a PR for Fopma, who set a mark of 26:01 at NCAA DIII Central Regionals in 2018.

The weekly award is Fopma's fourth of the season, as he and the Sabercats are looking to hone their times once more before heading to NCCAA Nationals.

Next up for Fopma and Maranatha will be the Oshkosh Open, which is held this Friday at Lake Breeze Golf Club in Winneconne, Wisconsin. The venue is subject to change, and the most recent details will be made available at mbusabercats.com.
