Johnson at the Top
WATERTOWN, Wis. -- After standing out in the month of September, Kelsey Johnson has been named as the Pizza Ranch Student-Athlete of the Month - an in-house award from MBU.
Johnson's leadership on and off the court has given the Sabercats a 10-2 record so far this season. Those 10 wins include an active nine-game winning streak, which they will carry into a matchup with Wisconsin Lutheran in an attempt to make it 10 straight wins.
During the month of September, Johnson fired off 111 kills in 12 matches, adding three triple-doubles and five double-doubles while averaging over 18 assists in each match.
Johnson and the Sabercats are the clear favorites to win the NCCAA North Region, but they will first take on a tough NCAA DIII schedule until the North Region Tournament comes around.
