LEXINGTON, Ky. -- The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) has named Regina DeLozier as the National Coach of the Year for the National Christian College Athletic Association.

Joining DeLozier on the AVCA honors listings are Kelsey Johnson (1st-Team All-American), Claire Hansel (2nd-Team All-American), and Karley Johnson (2nd-Team All-American).

This final honor marks the third possible honor that DeLozier could have received, and she got them all - NCCAA North Region Coach of the Year, NCCAA DII National Coach of the Year, and now AVCA National Coach of the Year for the NCCAA.

The AVCA is a sanctioning body that, among other things, awards All-American honors from the NCAA and the NCCAA. The AVCA selects one head coach and one assistant from all the teams in the NCCAA, both Division I and Division II. Over 200 coaches from 71 schools were eligible for selection, and DeLozier surpassed them all.

This is the second time in the last three seasons that DeLozier has earned the honor, as she earned it in 2017 with her daughter, Torey Rosen, who earned the Assistant Coach of the Year Award.

DeLozier led the Sabercats to a commendable 25-6 record, which ended with an NCCAA DII national runner-up finish. Throughout the season, the Sabercats went on a nine-game winning streak two different times, and they held a perfect 6-0 home record. Even in DeLozier's lofty standards, this was a season to remember.  

AVCA All-Americans

The All-American selections for Hansel and the Johnson sisters were an extension of the NCCAA DII All-American honors. Hansel and Kelsey earned AVCA 1st-Team honors in 2018, and this was the first time that Karley earned an AVCA honor.
