Twice Around for Johnson
WATERTOWN, Wis. -- After cleaning up the NCCAA Awards at last month's national championship, Kelsey Johnson has earned her second honor as Pizza Ranch Student-Athlete of the Month - an in-house award from MBU.
Johnson was named as the NCCAA DII National Player of the Year, and she earned the NCCAA Game Plan 4 LIFE Character Award, which the NCCAA considers the highest honor that it conveys to a student-athlete from each sport and division.
Just for good measure, Johnson was named as an NCCAA DII 1st-Team All-American and NCCAA All-Tournament honors at the national championship.
To get into the position of earning the National Player of the Year Award, Johnson was named as the NCCAA North Region Player of the Year and an NCCAA North Region 1st-Team Selection. The very fact that this is a side note proves Johnson's dominance in terms of awards, making this last award basically a no-decision.
